March 30 When Jesus Christ entered the supper room to eat the Passover meal that last night, He was aware a dark fate awaited Him. Powerful forces were drawn up against Him ready to take His life. His enemies were moving toward Him. Jesus, however, took bread and gave it to His disciples. "Take, eat," He said, " this is My body, which is given for you: Do this in remembrance of Me." He took the cup and gave it to them. "Drink ye all of this, for this is my Blood of the New Testament, which is shed for you, and for many, for the remission of sins; Do this, as oft as ye shall drink it, in remembrance of Me." Dearest Lord, help us to understand Your words and to regularly partake in the great feast. |
March 31 In that dark night in the quite grove of olive trees called Gethsemani, when evil had its way, Jesus found support in only One. "Abba, Father." A childs cry came from His heart. Cold fear, betrayal, the desertion of friends, the false judgements of others, the whips, the nails, the hard wood could not stop it. His childlike trust in God would not be broken, even through the hours of pain and tears. May we learn discipline and childlike trust in You our Lord. Teach us to walk in Your footsteps and learn by Your example. |

April 1 The Harsh thud of nails driven through wood and flesh, the moaning of the dying, the periodic insults shouted to the cross, the mockery of His enemies to His claim of Divine Sonship, the few gasping words of Jesus Himself. Sounds not pleasant to the human ear. May our vision of faith grow till we value life in the light of our faith in the Son of God. |
